Tari Kerss has been an artist for the whole of her life.
Her current work in painting is strengthened by the skills, techniques, sensibilities and aesthetics developed across a lifetime of working in multiple mediums. Decades of visual language find expression in her painting.
Tari’s work is abstract. It originates from her inner experiences while in the landscapes of the natural world. She expresses the place, time, or mood of those experiences in an abstract composition of colors, marks, and movement. She currently works with acrylic on raw canvas.
Tari Kerss grew up in Northern California, and resides there today. She received an MFA from California College of Art in San Francisco. She taught in the Fine Art Departments of California College of the Arts, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, Mendocino College and College of Marin in California. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows through out the U.S.
